Delrose Marshall
I was born on the beautiful Island of Jamaica, Trench Town to be precise. I lived in the district of Dover in Portland until I moved to the UK at 12 years of age. I spent the next 4 years living with my parents in London until I moved again to Switzerland to pursue a modelling career. After 10 years of living a lavish life as a model I returned to the UK, settled down and had my first Daughter. For many years I was a house wife and full time mother but after having my third daughter I decided to go back to college and study beauty therapy. Two years of hard work paid off and I became a qualified beauty therapist.
Unfortunately After some years I fell sick and couldn’t continue with my job, I was unemployed again and I hated it! Being a house wife was just not for me any more so I searched for any small jobs I could do part time just to make ends meet and to fill up my days. During this period in my life I worked with a lot of children, in schools and nurseries, I also worked with the elderly as well as working in hospitals and working as a caterer. After many years of doing this I found that I enjoyed helping people but as I was getting older the work was getting harder. I had never had any art lessons and I had never dreamed of picking up a pencil let alone a paint brush, but one day after seeing a drawing by my youngest daughter I suddenly had this urge to draw.
Art became my new passion and I didn’t even see it coming, after a week or so of trying to recreate my daughter’s drawings I decided to try some of my own, I even moved up a level and started to paint and surprisingly the result was far better than anticipated. After a hard day’s work I found that art was quite relaxing and therapeutic. From this I decided to combine my passion for art with the love I have for helping people. As well as being a masseuse I now teach people how to relax and let go through art, I like to call this therapeutic art.
